Quality Assurance and Accreditation

At Wayamba, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of excellence. Customers can be assured that all our facilities and services have attained the highest level of accreditation available in Sri Lanka. Our laboratory services are accredited by the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board (SLAB) and comply with ISO 15189-2022– Medical Laboratories – Particular requirements for quality and competence.

We operate an extensive internal Quality Control Program that is consistently evident across all areas of testing, ensuring the utmost reliability and precision. Additionally, we participate in continuous external Quality Assurance Programs through partnerships with globally recognized organizations, including BIORAD, RANDOX Accuracy, and the Medical Research Institute – NEQAS program. These programs are a testament to our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and performance in our testing processes.

Analyzers

1. Roche cobas e411
   • The cobas e 411 analyzer is an automated, random-access, multichannel analyzer for immunological analysis. It is designed for both quantitative and qualitative in vitro determination of a wide range of analytes by use of Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) technology.
2. TOSOH AIA 360
   • Specifications: Method - Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay, Detection - LED illuminant, non-flow cell/TOP-TOP photometry method, Reagent technology - Unit Dose Test Cup reagent technology requires no on-board refrigeration, no pre-mixing and no pre-measuring, Saves time and cost by eliminating errors and waste.
3. Roche cobas c311
   • 108 sample positions with continuous random access and flexible STAT priority settings, Automatic determination of sample integrity, Automatic sample dilution and rerun capabilities.
   • The cobas c 311 analyzer is a standalone system that offers consolidated testing from a broad menu of clinical chemistry applications. This analyzer has the capacity for ion-selective electrode (ISE) determination of sodium, potassium, and chloride in serum, plasma, and urine. In addition, measurement of HbA1c levels in whole blood can also be performed, making it a truly flexible analyzer.
4. Sysmex XN 330 I
   • XN-330 is a fully automated compact 6-part differential haematology analyser. The XN-330 offers single sample analysis in open mode. It has a fully integrated IPU (information-processing unit) including an LCD colour touchscreen that makes it easy to operate.
   • Compact 6-part differential haematology analyser.
   • Throughput of 70 samples per hour.
5. BIORAD D10
   • The D-10 instrument provides comprehensive, automated hemoglobin testing in a compact footprint. Combining HbA1c and HbA2/F/A1c testing on a single platform, the system offers simple, efficient operation for clinics, physician offices, or clinical laboratories. Easy to use, the D-10 includes multilingual operational support.
   • This high-performance platform sets a new standard to aid clinicians in the diagnosis of patients living with diabetes, as well as monitoring existing patients. Deliver a full clinical picture in fewer steps with the D-10 System.
   • Add capacity to the D-10 and streamline workflow with the D-10 Rack Loader and improved system software. Technicians can load up to 50 samples for walkaway analysis without user intervention, with the flexibility to load samples as they become available. Load all kit reagents at once, with no need to change buffer bottles in the middle of a kit. Flexibility is further enhanced with STAT sample processing.

In 2005 while I was engaging in my clinical works as a clinician, I felt that there was no properly developed clinical laboratory in the North Western province. So, I felt it was real need to both patients and doctors to establish a proper clinical laboratory to provide high quality service. Also, I faced many problematic situations having erroneous and delayed laboratory investigation reports of my patients. As a proper and sustainable solution to this situation the Wayamba Diagnostic Medical Laboratory emerged on 31st of January 2005.

Services of Wayamba Diagnostic Medical Laboratory mainly based on four concepts. Those are high degree of accuracy, timeliness and reliability with very courteous caring service to all our service recipients. We always strenuously and smartly try our best make these words in to reality.

I strongly believe that it is highly important to have world frontline high-tech equipment and superior knowledge and extreme skilled people with highly positive attitude to deliver best service to the community.
